Don't railway planning laws settle that one by having a clear distinction
between the same station being resited and two different stations?

I don't know enough about it to comment authoritatively, but yes, i would
imagine so. If you have the details, add it to the wikipedia page for the
train, and add a link from the Ship of Thesus article!
