![]() "grusl" wrote in message ... "Mike....." wrote in message . .. I now have a swipe card for free travel in London, (yes thats right im ******** old now, official). Ive seen people here warbling on about swiping when leaving the system to avoid maximum fare or whatever. SWMBO also insists this is needed. (my Local Council picks up the bill for the free travel). Right, I went up to London, swiped the card both ends. Came back, swiped in but didnt swipe out because the barriers were not in us as they are not when station not staffed. I might be old but I dont come home for ********* tea, do I !!! SWMBO thinks my card and therefore council will be overcharged, will it? -- Sounds like a question for uk.transport.london. They're very good. Not today they're not. The Oyster card system is broken again... -- William Black I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach Time for tea. |

I think they're fixed again, but two problems this month is a bit ridiculous. Question to anyone that might know- are the problems with PAYG cards fixed now? I wasn't in London at the time of the problems, so I'm assuming my cards will be fine? Also, am I correct in understanding that oyster PAYG works for Chiltern Railways in the LT area? I've a US friend visiting soon, and I was going to lend him one of my oyster cards- and he's intending to visit Wembley while in London. -- (*) of the royal duchy of city south and deansgate -www.davidhorne.net (email address on website) "If people think God is interesting, the onus is on them to show that there is anything there to talk about. Out of luck - they only work on Chiltern where they share an station with LU. |

I should just have done my own research rather than believe what I read in newsgroups! ![]() http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/st...mbley-stadium/ (They do work, according to the train operator.) -- (*) of the royal duchy of city south and deansgate -www.davidhorne.net (email address on website) "If people think God is interesting, the onus is on them to show that there is anything there to talk about. Not any more - you can now also use PAYG at Wembley Stadium to Northolt Park (i.e. all Chiltern stations in the Travelcard zones). |
