Where the two loose rails are in between the tracks on the spur, there appears to be a raised area if you zoom in far enough. Was this once a platform? In that area on Multimap Bird's Eye there seems to be a few S&T cabinets, but no platform. Just before the tunnel mouth there's a row of yellow flat wagons and a pair of shipping containers, on a disconnected piece of track: http://tinyurl.com/59fcys There might be a partial platform section behind the shipping containers, but it's hard to tell. The station had a single platform alongside a temporary spur off the Down Airport line. A temporary trailing crossover provided access onto the Up Airport line. For those interested in the mileages, the temporary station was at 12m 25ch (I've seen it described as "Heathrow Interchange"), the northern- most tunnel mouth is at 12m 30ch. The station was removed very promptly on opening of the permanent route. I believe that restoring the land to its original use was part of the planning requirements. PhilD -- |

Does anyone have any details about exactly where it was and what it amounted to, or even photos of it? I took a photo of a 332 there once, after just getting off it.
