Just to counter sink a few things you have been reading in the press about
our glorious Central Line Trains. 1. There ARE no plans to introduce a reduced timetable. Yes some rush hour cancellations and extended intervals will be occurring as the trains go in for safety checks. 2. Gearboxes: yes ok , damage to gearboxes are occurring but in no greater frequency to that either of the famous " post Chancery Lane " incident, nor over and above normal wear and tear of these things anyway. So there's no alarm there either to scotch any rumours on that issue. i.e., Notting Hill Gate recently. 3. The Cracks! Cracks are being inspected every 7 days. So far no extension to any cracks have been found and they are 10% into having checked the whole fleet so far to date. As a result of this confidence is running high that a.) there is no serious stock withdrawal having to be made b.) they will find the reason for those cracks that have been highlighted worth any concern and for that only two, yes only two, are being closely investigated and they are withdrawn from service anyway. 4: There is no connection with the Chancery Lane incident and that which is being reported today in our infamous London Evening Standard. D R. (No questions please unless they are made on #uklondontransport) |
