there is a shuttle (just going backwards and forwards on the same track) on
the branch line off the northern line between finchley central and mill hill east. coming from mill hill and arriving at finchley central it takes about two minutes to walk over to the platform that goes south to the centre of london. trains coming from barnet and edgware and going south never wait the couple of minutes for all the people who get off the shuttle and who want to get on the train continuing their journey going south. is there any reason why the drivers cannot do this? |

... The timetable. LOL - like the tube *has* a timetable! If Kennington Charing Cross branch northbound is anything to go by, the drivers wait until a Bank train pulls in at the opposite platform, then wait a tad longer until the Bank train doors open, then wait for another couple of seconds until we have almost made it to the train, before shutting the doors and pulling off. Miserable, stupid, childish, pathetic *******s. Ian |

Probably because they don't want to delay the 500 people on the train already to allow the 50 odd people who got off the MHE train to board. And to be honest , if it takes you 2 minutes to walk over that bridge you need to head off down a gym and get fitter. I would reckon 30 seconds at most to cross it if you're in a hurry and if you run and didn't have some old lady blocking the stairs you could probably do it in half that. B2003 |

The drivers have been bribed to do that at Kennington by Sofa-Spud... I've noticed that there now seem to be platform staff guarding the first set of doors at Bank on the northbound in the rush hour, making people wait till everyone has got off. I hope that their role also includes preventing the driver from shutting the doors just before the last people have stepped off and no one has got on. |
