Hi all,
The Times is spreading a rumour that the government is withdrawing support for further tram extensions in London as they are considered not to be economically viable. Other sources, particularly those at the 4th Annual Rapid Transit & Light Rail Conference, suggest that this rumour is untrue. -- John Rowland - Spamtrapped Transport Plans for the London Area, updated 2001 http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acro...69/tpftla.html A man's vehicle is a symbol of his manhood. That's why my vehicle's the Piccadilly Line - It's the size of a county and it comes every two and a half minutes |

Considering the speed at which even the approved schemes are not being built I doubt that decision even if it is true will make any noticable difference for years. B2003 |
