you know what Stratford really needs, after the NLL being diverted
from Broad Street, the Jubilee and two sets of DLR, oh and the CTRL,
and that Crossrail thing. Yeah, that's right, another railway link!"
business will continue for decades to come. There are still plenty of
trains that don't go to Stratford yet: give them time.

Good point - we have a level crossing round the corner where the vast
majority of trains are either Class 450s or Class 455s and I must have
taken my son across it hundreds of times, quite often having to wait at
the lights because it's a busy route. He still thinks trains go 'chuff
chuff'. What's wrong with impersonating the 'Weeyeeyee' noise a 450 makes?

Cycling along those lines of narrow gratings you see in car parks etc: the
tyres over the ribs make a hum or whine, and the gratings clacking up and
down are the rail joints.

The challenge is staying on a 4" wide grating for its whole length!
