I was surprised to learn, now that Stockwell's RMLs have less than a week
left to run, that in addition to displays for Route 11 and the 36 'Extra' service operated on Notting Hill Carnival days, they also carry panels for the famous F-suffixed service 406F (Epsom Stn and Racecourse shuttle) and the 77A. The 77A is without any via points (the side and rear just show a large route number, rather like the way some school journeys are shown on OPO workings). Whilst 'WANDSWORTH' has been included on the utimate destination blind, other 77A destinations are by dint of using the 11 displays i.e. 'ALDWYCH', but also 'TRAFALGAR SQUARE' and 'WESTMINSTER STATION'. There is nothing for 'VAUXHALL' or 'CLAPHAM JUNCTION', for example. Why has the 77A specifically been included? Have any Routemasters been seen on the route? Is the 406F on other LG RM/RML sets i.e. at AF, NX and Q? Regards, Mike |
