There doesn't appear to be anything setting out what may happen to
continue the service over this route from the December timetable change. There is no track access application from Southern for the service it is rumoured it would provide to Ealing Broadway, the franchise agreement for the new Southern franchise is not on the DfT website yet and nothing is in the timetable. Furthermore, the replacement bus still doesn't appear to be officially advertised anywhere. Since the introduction of the Wandsworth Road to Kensington Olympia services. has the bus remained operational over the entire distance from Ealing Broadway to Wandworth Road or is it now cut back to Kensington Olympia. What is the current timetable of the replacement bus? Is this likely to change in December? Thanks Jonathan |

Why should it realistically have anything to do with SN (despite what the DfT suggested a while back)? They would have to use a DMU, completely off its usual route. Why do you personally think this service is needed? You couldn't travel between the two stations when the service did run, stopping points were Kenny O and Reading. DfT should simply define the Central Line as the replacement from Shepherds Bus. Paul S |

I was just asking whether anything had come of the DfT suggestion rather than trying to campaign for it. Why do you personally think this service is needed? I agree with your comment - I don't think the replacement service is needed in this limited form and the Central Line (and interchange at Shepherds Bush) is as good a rail replacement as running a bus or sending a train three hours out of its way once a week for the lines no longer served. Since Shepherds Bush (London Overground) opened, I have made the South London - Clapham Junction - Shepherds Bush - Ealing Broadway - Reading journey more often than I ever did when there were through Cross Country trains (although not at comparable times). (Of course, there is more to do in the Shepherds Bush area en route now as well and the comparative ease of interchange there between London Overground and the Central Line has triggered something in my mind about making this journey.)
