How much was a ticket for the underground in the 60s?

$2 bills have a worse problem, incidentally. Many people have never
seen one in their entire lives -- or even know they exist -- and they
look different than all the other bills. Many clerks...

Yes you should pay twice if using cash or PAYG. There are no "break of
journey" facilities for London's buses nor are there are through single
tickets valid bus to bus. Obviously you aren't...

How GPS works (was Bus Information Signs)

So this means a receiver needs to already know current approximate
location and the current time, and the orbit and frequency pattern
information about the satellites. This is why it takes ages...

What is the Life of a Bank of Escalators?

The escalators being replaced were installed as part of the DLR
extension to Bank. Perhaps the budget for said extension might have
been somewhat stretched, so the chosen escalators weren't...
