London Overground Extension To Clapham Junction

To run the whole service reliably (and it's designed for up to 18 or even
20
tph ultimately) with adequate turnround times and margins you'd need a
four platform station at Highbury, and...

London Overground Extension To Clapham Junction

I don't see the purpose of terminating at Dalston Junction. Its
nowheresville.
Even if you want to get the NLL you have to walk to kingsland. Why doesn't
every train just go to highbury...

Is it too much to expect buses to actually stop at bus stops?

Presumably the research didn't include those I see on almost every bus
journey who signal the bus too late (either with a V sign or an angry
fist) as it sails straight pass compulsory bus...

Journey History

I wonder what the rationale is there - I had been pondering that it
was some sort of systems issue (that I couldn't quite decipher), but
actually I wonder if it might not be more of a safeguard...

I wasn't suggesting otherwise but trying to identify the precise condition
you are trying to describe. I think what you're saying is that whichever
side of the train you sit on the end of...

Live Departure Board Error

I wonder how that happened?

There were some interesting entries for East Croydon to London Bridge
services this morning. First Capital Connect's emergency service from

SNOW JOKE

but why the disruption should have been
so bad
this yesterday, when the weather was less severe than we have seen in
the last two years isn't yet clear.

The Croydon area seems to have been very badly hit.

The weather in the afternoon was much worse than it had been in the

SNOW JOKE

A lot of bus routes have been disrupted by the snow and whilst
Metrobus have provided a lot of info through their excellent website
there is nothing at all on the TfL website which I think is...

Making an immediate return with Oyster

And what would happen if I touched in at Brockley, then did nothing
else before touching out at Brockley an hour later?

My understanding of how that situation works with same station entry and...

Oyster PAYG more expensive than paper tickets?

I ought to have paid more attention before, but how the eck can
Fenchurch Street to Bank be an OSI when Cannon Street to Bank is not?

Perhaps even more to the point, why are Liverpool St NR to...

Oyster PAYG more expensive than paper tickets?

Following up my own post...

On the outbound trip there is clearly an OSI and the end result is the
Senior Railcard discounted journey at £3.75 that Barry quoted, though I
didn't see where it...

[OT] Postal counties to be dropped from the Postcode Address File

as our address format. Of course, you only *need* "20 AB1 2CD", but
the inclusion of the street and post town provide a useful "checksum"
to ensure the postcode is correct, and the street...

Oyster Route Validators - compulsory to touch?

(Incidentally, if a tram passenger did alight at Wimbledon then touch
on one of the Oyster readers on the tram platform, then it's quite
possible there'd be no ill-effect - Tramlink allows one...

Dalston to Enflield Town Chingford.

An alternative is to grab an eastbound 30 or 56 at Dalston Junction and
toddle 5-6 mins down the road to Hackney Downs. They stop right outside
and it's not a bad connection given the NXEA...

upcoming section to Highbury and Islington. But what if a connection
were made to the Lea Valley Lines, which according to...

this is the case.

The other day I made a journey of...

Yes. And of Essex if it were the MBW.

metropolitan board

I think the whole thing may be the [main members of the] Metropolitan
Board of Works. There's something the same or very similar on at least
some of the old pumping stations.

That would...

unsuitable for...
